COME OUT IN SUPPORT OF A BIKE-FRIENDLY MIAMI!
JOIN US (the Members of the City of Miami Bicycle Action Committee, including SFBC Director, Kathryn Moore) WEDNESDAY, OCT. 6 FROM 6-8 AT CALAMARI!
Fund raising cocktail for The Bicycle Action Committee 6:00 – 8:00 PM, hosted by Calamari Restaurant (3540 Main Highway), $5 Admission includes your first drink on the house and hors d’oeuvres, with all proceeds going to The Bicycle Action Committee (BAC), a subcommitee of the Green Commission which was formed in 2008 as a means to facilitate the City of Miami to move forward to become a Bicycle-Friendly City. The BAC is composed of representatives from various City, County, State and local community individuals, business owners, and cycling advocates. The BAC was responsible for the creation of the 2008 Bicycle Action Plan which set in motion the 2009 Bicycle Master Plan to make the City of Miami a Bicycle Friendly City by 2012. For more information, contact BAC Chair Richard A. Cahlin here or just join us on Wednesday!
Note from Kathryn: I’ve been involved with the Bicycle Action Committee at every level and I’m happy to see how it has empowered local cyclists, informed city policymakers and expanded now to raise money to support better bicycling in the City of Miami. I’m excited about this event, the first of its kind in BAC history, and hope to see you there!
Check out what we hope will be the evening’s biggest seller: the first ever City of Miami Official Jersey!
Members of the Bicycle Action Committee will also be selling raffle tickets for a host of prizes from local bike shops, including BAC Member Shop, Mack Cycle & Fitness. If you or your shop would be able to donate a prize, please let us know!
Raffle Prizes include:
Bike Kit (BAC Jersey & Shorts)
Bicycle Goody Bags
Bottle of Champagne
Also, please RSVP so we can provide a count for Calamari’s.
We look forward to seeing you this Wednesday at Calamari in Coconut Grove. Bring a friend!
